Guido Sandleris received his Doctorate in Economics from Columbia University in 2005, his Master's in Economics from the London School of Economics, and his Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires.
Between 2018 and 2019, he served as President of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic. Previously, he was Secretary of Economic Policy and Chief Advisor at the Ministry of Finance of the Argentine Republic. In 2016, he served as Undersecretary of Finance for the Province of Buenos Aires.
He has been a Professor at Johns Hopkins University and a visiting professor at the London School of Economics and the University of Los Andes. He was a visiting researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, the Central Bank of Chile, PUC-Rio de Janeiro, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the International Monetary Fund.
At UTDT, he was Dean of the School of Business from 2014 to 2015 and directed the Center for Research in Finance from 2007 to 2015.
He specializes in international economics, macroeconomics, and finance. His research focuses on issues related to financial crises and public debt. His work has been published in the Journal of International Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and Oxford University Press, among others.
He has received research grants and fellowships from the Fulbright Commission, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, Columbia University, LACEA, and the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic.
He has conducted consulting and research work for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Attorney General's Office, and several investment banks and governments in Latin America.
He is co-author of the children's book series "Hay Equipo," published by Kapelusz Norma.
