René Caldentey is a Professor of Operations Management with research interests in stochastic modeling, particularly in revenue and retail management, queueing theory, and finance. He has an extensive publication record in journals such as Advances in Applied Probability, Econometrica, Management Science, Mathematics of Operations Research, M&SOM, Operations Research, and Queueing Systems. Professor Caldentey has contributed to the editorial boards of Management Science, M&SOM, Operations Research, Production and Operations Management, and the Journal of Systems and Engineering (in Spanish). Before joining the Booth School, he held a professorship at New York University Stern School of Business, where he was part of the department of Information, Operations, and Management Science. Prior to his academic roles, he worked for the Chilean Central Bank and taught at the University of Chile and MIT's Sloan School of Management.
Professor Caldentey earned his Master of Arts in civil industrial engineering from the University of Chile and his Doctor of Philosophy in operations management from MIT.
