Joaquín Navajas is a researcher at the Business School of the Torcuato Di Tella University and a researcher at CONICET. He holds a degree in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. Between 2014 and 2017 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London, the number one university in the world in neuroscience.
His lines of research focus on understanding biases in decision-making, the behavior of work teams, moral decisions, and cognitive processes linked to political polarization. He has previously worked in various lines related to neuroengineering, cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, and human behavioral sciences.
His research has been published in Nature Human Behaviour, Journal of Neuroscience, Journal of Experimental Psychology and Current Opinion in Behavioral Sciences , among others. He has also participated as a speaker and consultant in numerous academic conferences, colloquia and business events. In 2012 he was awarded the ICT Pioneers award, which recognizes the most outstanding doctoral candidates in the United Kingdom. At the local level, he was highlighted by La Nación in 2014 as one of the 35 under-35 leaders in Argentina.
He currently heads the Neuroscience Laboratory at Torcuato Di Tella University and the new Bachelor of Behavioral Science and is a professor of undergraduate and graduate courses at the Business School. He also teaches neuroscience programs in the area of Executive Education, and is in charge of the subject “Neuroscience and Experimental Psychology,” which is optional for all undergraduate courses at UTDT.
