YPF: ECONOMÍA Y POLÍTICA DE LA ESTATIZACIÓN

Speakers: Nicolás Gadano, Alieto Guadagni, Alejandro Bonvecchi and Sebastián Etchemendy.
Nicolás Gadano is an expert economist in the oil industry. He was Chief Economist of YPF and wrote the book "History of Oil in Argentina 1907-1955: From the beginning until the fall of Peron."
Alieto Guadagni is Ph.D in Economics from University of California at Berkeley and is currently Professor at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. He was Secretary of Energy, Foreign International Economic Relations and of Industry, Commerce and Mining. He is the author of several books on energy matters.
Alejandro Bonvecchi obtained his Ph.D. in Government from University of Essex and is currently Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Studies at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
Sebastian Etchemendy obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science from University of California and is now a full-time Professor and Director of the Master in Political Science at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. -

In the past, he served as Head of Emerging Markets Strategy and Head of Latin American Research at Barclays Capital, Director of Monetary and Financial Policies, and Chief Economist at the Central Bank of Argentina and Director of the Center for Financial Research at UTDT,among other positions.
As an expert in macro-financial issues, he regularly advises organizations such as the World Bank, IDB, IMF, central banks and governments in emerging countries.

The International Monetary System in the 21st Century

Barry Eichengreen, Professor of Economics and Political Science at University of California-Berkeley, Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (US) and Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (UK). Is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has been Senior Policy Advisor of the IMF. Eichengreen is an expert in the international financial system and in monetary regimens. His Works have been published by the most prestigious academic journals. His most famous book is Golden Fetters where he argues that the gold standard between wars was one of the causes of the great depression of 1930. Recently he has analized crucial topics in the international agenda such as, the relevance of the fiscal adjustment in developed countries, the relationship between the G20 and the IMF and the situation of the euro as a common currency of a large portion of Europe, topics related with the gold standard.
